Taconic Hills High School Trap Team

Philmont Rod & Gun started a Trap Shooting program with the Taconic Hills Athletics Department.    Club members that have volunteered to help teach the kids and run the program.   The team joined the NYS High School Clay Target League for the 2021 season.  High Schools from around the state compete as individuals and as a team for top honors.
The top teams then compete Nationally.

The team uses our trap field to practice after PRGC Open Trap on Tuesdays & Fridays during the spring.  The team then shoots together on specific Saturdays (see the club Calendar and the Schedule below for times and dates) and their scores are uploaded to the NYS League.

About 25 -30 TH High School students, both boys and girls, competed in 2021 and
won the State Championship

PRGC sponsors the team by providing the Trap Field, Clay Birds and the coaching staff.  All the other monies the team needs is raised by the shooters on the team through Fund Raisers.  If you would like to donate to the team please contact Alison Stark: email:  [email protected]

The High School Trap Program is a great way to get the youth into the shooting sports.  Teaching discipline and skills that may lead to college scholarships but will definitely lead to a life long love of the shooting sports which can enjoyed the rest of their lives!
